比起7月27日客場出戰坦帕灣光芒隊6局下被換下場瞬間，忽然怒吼、踢腿，走進休息室後摔帽，昨天陳偉殷結束6局任務回到休息室與隊友們歡樂擊掌的笑顏，儼然是他本季於球場最燦爛的笑容。
20天前，巴爾的摩金鶯總教練修瓦特被迫回答換下陳偉殷的時間點之爭議時說：「他（陳偉殷）或許是氣自己，也許是在氣我！」昨天修總則是喜孜孜地拍拍陳的肩膀，讚許他貢獻好投，兩個景象反差真大。
這回，陳偉殷的笑容格外讓人瞧出他的自信，賽後他被記者們圍著受訪時也是一派自若。這是金鶯衝季後賽，最需要的那位主力左投，他的能耐、在季後賽所扮演關鍵先發左投的角色，正漸漸擴大。
金鶯隊至10月初例行賽結束還剩46場，預計陳偉殷還有8至9場先發，他爭取連2季至少10勝以上戰績仍樂觀。
陳偉殷過去3季效力金鶯的勝負場數分別是12勝11敗、7勝7敗、16勝6敗，特別是上季投出16勝6敗、自責分率3.54的大聯盟生涯年。
本季至今，陳偉殷的自責分率3.20、每局被上壘率（WHIP）1.17都比過去3季更優。只不過隊友火力沒跟上，他累積勝投的速率也是4季以來最慢的；所以昨天他領銜登板，金鶯攻出單場18分、平隊史最多26安之戰，就顯得珍奇。
陳偉殷本季投球局數累積143.1局，要挑戰大聯盟生涯首度單季200局，得很拚。若以他還剩9場先發來推估，接下來平均每場至少得投完6局，不過突破2012年菜鳥球季所締造的單季192.2局，機會就來得更大些。
